Exploration Assistant for Our Body: The Universe Within
The National Traveling Exhibit Our Body: The Universe Within will be at Exploration Place from May 24 through October 12, 2008. With educational relevance for all ages, this exhibition of real human specimens immerses visitors in the complexities of the human body, telling us the amazing story of ourselves with reverence and understanding. Volunteers will be needed to accept visitor tickets, outside of the exhibit, assist with trained medical volunteers inside the exhibit, and to help staff the gift shop located at the end of the exhibit.
Skills and Abilities: Medical backgrounds are not required for this exhibit, but are an added attribute. As the exhibit is comprised of real human specimens, Volunteers have a wonderful opportunity to help visitors learn about their own composition in an open, friendly environment.
Training: There will be a special training session announced for this exhibition as we near it’s arrival date.
Schedule: Assistance will be needed for all shifts during the hours the museum is open to the public. The museum will have extended hours of operation during the run of this exhibition.
Minimum Commitment: As this exhibit will require constant staff, Volunteers are asked to commit to at least four hours per week. If you only able to assist for one day every one to two weeks, please commit to four hours on that day.
