Storm Fury on the Plains:

Weather and Safety

Saturday April 14 . 10 a.m. - noon

Kemper Creative Learning Studio

SEATING IS VERY LIMITED, FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED

In this multi-media presentation by the National Weather Service’s Chance Hayes, understand the basics of thunderstorm development, storm structure, cloud identification and more. You’ll also learn the correct way to report storm information and to follow basic severe weather safety.

And meet authors who wrote Kansas: In the Heart of Tornado Alley. Talk with them about their experiences with Kansas twisters and how they relate to our state’s stormy history.

No prior experience is required and no general museum admission needed to attend.

Stick around after the session to encounter the extreme weather found on other planets in the new National Geographic Full Dome Film Wildest Weather in the Solar System in our Boeing Dome Theater and Planetarium – you’ll be glad you live on earth!

Special Admission Offer:

if you attend this program, you can get discounted admission tickets: $4 exhibit admission, $2 dome admission (per person, tax not included). To receive this discount, tickets must be purchased at Exploration Place from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. before session begins.
